»Angst«

In Julians Arbeit wird der Wald zur Projektionsfläche eigener Ängste. Stellvertretend zerlegt er eine Baumwurzel in eine Form- Farb- und Struktursammlung und kombiniert die Elemente spielerisch miteinander. Die Kompositionen verweisen auf Aspekte der Abschottung und des Versteckens.Dem entgegen steht die Baumwurzel als Symbol für Standhaftigkeit, Verankerung und Resistenz.
So werden beide Aspekte der Angst abgebildet: Der der Lähmung wie der einer aktivierenden Wirkung, welche unerwartete Ideen oder Innovationen hervorbringen kann. Die Kompositionen werden als Hintergründe für eine Serie von Faltblättern die über fundamentale Ängste aufklären genutzt.

In Julian's work, the forest becomes a projection screen for his own fears. Representatively, he dissects a tree root into a collection of shapes, colours and structures and playfully combines the elements with each other. The compositions refer to aspects of isolation and hiding, while the tree root symbolises steadfastness, anchoring and resistance.
In this way, both aspects of fear are depicted: That of paralysis as well as that of an activating effect, which can bring forth unexpected ideas or innovations. The compositions are used as backgrounds for a series of leaflets that inform about fundamental fears.
