»Salamander Scarabaeus Sacer Salamander«

Da der Wald der Lebensraum tausender kleiner Tiere, wie Feuersalamander und Skarabäus ist, deren Entdeckung Emma als Kind entzückt haben, kombinierte sie Formelemente beider Tiere mit Fotografien des Waldes. Durch die vielen übereinander gelegten Fotoausschnitte wird der Betrachter zum Suchen und Entdecken angeregt. Unterstützt wird diese Wechselwirkung durch freischwingende Objekte im Raum, aus denen eine Art Guckloch in Form der Objekte ausgeschnitten ist. Indem man durch diese hindurch schaut, soll die Wahrnehmung auf die kleinen Dinge gelenkt werden.

As the forest is the habitat of thousands of small animals, such as the fire salamander and the scarab, whose discovery delighted Emma as a child, she combined form elements of both animals with photographs of the forest. Through the many superimposed photo cut-outs, the viewer is encouraged to search and discover. This interaction is supported by free-swinging objects in the room, from which a kind of peephole is cut out in the shape of the objects. By looking through these, perception is to be directed to the small things.
