»Stadtwald Frankfurt«

Der Frankfurter Stadtwald kühlt die Stadt, reguliert daher das Klima, filtert die Luft, versorgt die Stadt mit Trinkwasser und ist ein beliebtes Naherholungsgebiet für Stadtbewohner. Jedoch sind 98,9% der Bäume im Stadtwald krank. Klimawandel, Schadstoffe und Hitze sind reale Probleme, die der Wald zu schultern hat und auf die wir zum Teil Einfluss nehmen können. Charlenes Arbeit will Bewusstsein für die aktuelle Situation schaffen. Sie beschäftigte sich mit Thermochromie beschäftigt, die visuell Temperaturverläufe darstellt. Daraus sind Farbverläufe und später -formen entstanden. Hieraus gestaltete Charlene zwei Plakatreihen: eine blaue, die wir mit Ruhe und Kühle assoziieren und eine rote, die auf den schlechten Zustand des Waldes aufmerksam macht.

Frankfurt's urban forest cools the city, therefore regulates the climate, filters the air, supplies the city with drinking water and is a popular recreational area for city dwellers. However, 98.9% of the trees in the city forest are diseased. Climate change, pollutants and heat are real problems that the forest has to shoulder and that we can partly influence. Charlene's work aims to raise awareness of the current situation. She worked with thermochromics, which visually represent temperature gradients. From this, colour gradients and later shapes were created. Charlene designed two series of posters: a blue one, which we associate with calm and coolness, and a red one that draws attention to the poor condition of the forest.
