Democracy and Religion

What

In an increasingly fragile and at the same time becoming more complex world, religion leads many people back to ideas that rely on the secure framework of divine power. The question is how this power relates to democracy: is it at all possible to combine religious belief and democratic activity? Is it possible to find in all religions a common source of what we call charity?

Why

If it is not our own religion, we are often afraid of the inherent power of its believers, who involuntarily become at least strangers in our minds, and often enemies. In fact, religious extremism can destroy the value of a vibrant togetherness based on diversity and thus the practice of all democratically oriented socio-political activities.

How

Democracy and religion are the contents of the lectures and discussions that accompany the practical courses. In this case, the Disegno courses "Food" and "Vessels" focus on the elementary common needs on which the diversity of cultural behaviors are based.

Discussions with representatives of different religions are part of the presentations in which the practical results are shown to a wider audience.
