How can young people be motivated to participate in democracy as the only real possibility of encountering themselves by entering the realm of the other?

How to motivate people for democracy in these circumstances? To convince them that participation in the creative coexistence called democracy is the only right solution? How can we support young people in general, but especially those with a migration background, in finding a way to productively combine their origins and current circumstances in planning their lives?

Based on concrete experiences with the formal conditions in Germany: What else is needed to engage people in a deeper exchange of individual perspectives that enables each to recognize their own needs in the needs of the other?

In what ways - in terms of location, preparation, consumption, and communication - can food become both an object of togetherness in terms of immediate sensual experience and a means of communicating cultural difference?

If we take seriously as a necessary condition for a living democracy that togetherness is not primarily the bond of family, clan, tribe or nation, but the togetherness of diversity, then we have to ask not only how to deal with migration, but much more: can we do without migration at all?

Key question:
How to create a course for children aged 5-10 in which drawing –as a way of unfolding manual skills in an individual way– becomes a medium of concrete narrative exchange?
